What is a retainer?
A retainer is an upfront-advance paid to the attorney by the client in order to retain the attorney's services. After consulting with you about your case, I will provide you with a retainer amount needed for me to begin work on your case. The retainer I quote is realistic based upon my years of experience with similar cases. I will not give you a "low-ball" retainer quote. The retainer quote I provide will be my best estimate of the amount needed to resolve your case based on the information you have provided. Keep in mind that unanticipated events such as extra court appearances; additional documents, pleadings, or discovery; or failures to mediate or settle a case may occur. This may require adding funds to the retainer account.
At the conclusion of your case, if any unused funds remain in the retainer account, the unused money will be refunded to you.
What is the hourly billing rate?
My hourly billing rate is $200/hr. The amount of hours spent each month on your case are billed against the retainer you provided. This money is deducted from the retainer each month when the bill is sent to you.
What form of payment is accepted?
I accept cash, checks, money orders, cashiers checks, and credit cards through Paypal. You may use Paypal through the button on the Home page.
